The people who make our work happen are neighbours, not distant administrators — and the same applies to the people who support it.
Vibrant Health Advocates – Theta is run by a small team and a network of dedicated peer facilitators, and we are always glad to hear from people who want to contribute to our work. Whether you want to volunteer your time, make a donation that keeps our groups free to attend, or explore a partnership between your organisation and ours, there is a meaningful role here.
Our work is local and personal — the people who make it happen are neighbours, not distant administrators — and the same applies to the people who support it. Every person who volunteers with us, donates to us, or refers someone our way is part of making quitting possible for someone in Dumfries & Galloway who might otherwise be doing it alone.
We are completely transparent about what contributions make possible. All of our groups are free to attend, and that can only happen because of the funding and volunteer time that underpins our work. If you can help — in any way — we would genuinely love to hear from you.
Out in the community, making connections
Whether your contribution is time, money, or an organisation's reach — it all goes toward keeping our groups running and free.
If you've quit smoking or vaping and want to help others do the same, you could become a peer facilitator with us — we provide full training and ongoing support. We also welcome volunteers who can help with community outreach, administration, and events. Your time makes our groups possible.
Talk to us about volunteeringEvery one of our groups is completely free to attend, and donations are what make that possible. A contribution of any size helps us keep sessions running, maintain our rural outreach, and develop resources that reach people who need them most. No donation is too small to matter.
Get in touch to donateWe work well alongside GP practices, community pharmacies, schools, employers, and other third-sector organisations in Dumfries & Galloway. If your organisation encounters people who are trying to quit, a referral pathway or partnership with us could make a real difference to the people you serve.
Discuss a partnershipOur peer facilitators are the people who make the sessions work. They are ordinary people who have quit smoking or vaping themselves — people who know what week three feels like, who've navigated the social awkwardness of turning down a cigarette at a family event, who've experienced the strange grief of losing something that was both harming them and comforting them.
We provide full training for everyone who wants to become a peer facilitator — a structured programme that equips you with session skills, communication techniques, and a clear understanding of the evidence around cessation. We also provide ongoing supervision and support, because we know that supporting others through a difficult process is itself demanding, and your wellbeing matters to us.
You don't need qualifications or professional experience. You need to have quit, to care about others, and to be willing to show up. If that sounds like you, please get in touch — we'd love to talk to you about the pathway.
